In America The early performance arts achievements of the young Maureen FitzSimons (who we know as Maureen O'Hara) would definitely be in the child prodigy category. However, for an Irish girl with talented parents and extended families, these qualities were natural. Maureen was born in Ranelagh which was a suburb in Dublin the capital of Ireland on the 17th of August 1920. Marguerita FitzSimons was a gifted contralto. Charles FitzSimons owned the Shamrock Rovers soccer club in Ireland and ran the Shamrock Rovers soccer club and a Dublin business. Maureen FitzSimons' was the second FitzSimons kid. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara made up this family. Maureen was an athletic natural and was a fan of tough athletic games. This passion and her gift to perform was impressive. That was apparent when she won each Feis for theatre and drama that Ireland had to offer. At the age of 14 she enrolled in at the Abbey Theater to follow her goal of studying classical theatre and operatic vocals.
